2012 Official Terms and Conditions

About The B.I.G.* Award

BIG ideas come from anywhere and Orlando, Inc. (Orlando Regional Chamber of Commerce) wants to celebrate dynamic, growth companies and entrepreneurs who have innovative products, services or processes, with The B.I.G.* Award.

We are looking for companies to share the story of their entrepreneurial journey, their brand or their corporate culture. Share your BIG story, get BIG exposure and plug in to the entrepreneurial network.

Orlando, Inc. is located at 75 South Ivanhoe Boulevard, Orlando, Florida, 32804. The B.I.G.* Award video contest begins on Monday, August 6, 2012 at 12:00 A.M. EST and ends on Friday, October 26, 2012, at 11:59 P.M. EST.

Two winners will be chosen and awarded a variety of prizes during The B.I.G.*Summit on Thursday, November 8, 2012, at Full Sail Live, located at Full Sail University, 141 University Park Drive, Winter Park, Florida 32792. This unique event, which is hosted by Orlando, Inc., brings together our region's entrepreneurs and growth companies to connect them to the resources they need to grow their businesses and weave the fabric of entrepreneurship that identifies Central Florida as an entrepreneurial "hot spot" on the global stage.

Entry in The B.I.G.* Award video contest constitutes your acceptance of these Official Terms and Conditions.


The B.I.G.* Award video contest is open to legal residents of the 15-county Central Florida Super Region (Brevard, Citrus, Hernando, Hillsborough, Lake, Manatee, Orange, Osceola, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk, Sarasota, Seminole, Sumter and Volusia counties) who are currently 18 years or older.

If you own a company that has moved beyond the startup phase and is experiencing steady growth, you may still participate regardless of the number of employees and years established.

There is no fee to enter The B.I.G.* Award video contest, however, you are responsible for any costs you may incur for creating and submitting your video. This contest is void where restricted or prohibited by law.

Submission Requirements

Entrants must submit an original video no more than two (2) minutes in length sharing the story of their entrepreneurial journey, their culture or their brand. State your name and company name on the video.

Entrants should highlight the products, services, processes or marketing practices that make the business and the entrepreneur successful. The video must be the original work of the entrant and may not show or contain any work or material (in whole or part) that could infringe on the intellectual property rights or other rights of any third party. The video does not need to be professionally produced and it may be recorded with a personal camera. Entrants may contract videographers or related businesses for the production of a professionally produced video, as long as the video meets all contest rules and regulations.

Entry in The B.I.G* Award video contest is available at Entry must be submitted no later than 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time on Friday, October 26, 2012. Entries become the sole property of Orlando, Inc., not for distribution, and will be neither acknowledged nor returned. Limit one entry per person.

By submitting a video, you are ensuring and representing to us that all individuals appearing in the video have agreed to all terms and conditions of The B.I.G.* Award video contest and have consented to your creating, submitting and using the video as well as to our showing, promoting and using the video. You will be solely responsible for obtaining all necessary consents.

You must upload your video to your personal YouTube account. If you do not have a YouTube account, you may sign up for a free account by visiting You must produce your video in accordance with the YouTube requirements which can be found at


Your video must comply with the following content guidelines:

  • Content cannot promote any activities that are or may appear to be unsafe, dangerous or unlawful.
  • Content cannot be obscene or offensive.
  • Content cannot contain any material that may, in the sole judgment of Orlando, Inc., infringe on the intellectual property rights of any third party, including but not limited to, copyrights or trademarks owned by others.
  • You must comply with all laws and regulations in making and presenting the video.
  • Orlando, Inc., reserves the right to reject or disqualify any submission for any reason, in its sole and absolute discretion, including the determination in its sole discretion that a submission fails to satisfy any of the above requirements, or is inconsistent with the goals, image or policies of Orlando, Inc., or The B.I.G.* Award video contest.

Selection Process

Videos will be judged based on content, innovation and creativity. Two winners will be chosen: one award will be given to The People's Choice and another award, The Judges' Choice Award, will be given to a video selected by a panel of entrepreneurs.

Judges will view only those qualified videos submitted via the Internet link provided in the Official Entry Form. If the judges are unable to view the work because of broken link or non-qualified file format, it will be ineligible. The decisions of the judges are final.


Winner must be present to receive a prize. Prizes will be awarded during The B.I.G.* Summit on Thursday, November 8, 2012.

Prizes may not be transferred. Orlando, Inc. reserves the right to make a substitution, in whole or in part, for a prize of comparable or greater value. Winners are responsible for any applicable taxes on a prize or any expenses not specified related to the acceptance and use of a prize.

Finalists will be notified by mail, email or telephone starting on Friday, October 26, 2012. Failure to respond to any notification or the return of any notification as undeliverable will cause the entry to be void and the entrant to not be eligible for a prize.

Promotion of Winning Videos

Winning videos will be promoted on the Orlando, Inc., website for one (1) week. By submitting a video, you are ensuring that all individuals appearing in the video have agreed to all terms and conditions of The B.I.G.* Award video contest and have consented to their appearance as well as our promotion and use of the video. By submitting a video, you and the business represented in the video have agreed that Orlando, Inc. may edit, promote and use the video (in whole or in part) for any purpose and in any way it determines in its sole discretion, including promotion of Orlando, Inc., The B.I.G.* Summit and the B.I.G.* Award Video Contest, and use in any and all media it determines for educational and other uses without any compensation to or prior review or approval by anyone whosever.

Terms and Conditions

By submitting a video and participating, each entrant and the business represented in the video agree to abide by these official rules and to the decision of the judges and Orlando, Inc., and its agents in all matters, including the submission and voting process and procedures, relating to the contest, which decisions shall be final in all respects; release, indemnify and hold harmless Orlando, Inc., and our contest partners/sponsors from any and all claims, actions, suits, liabilities, losses, damages costs and expenses of any kind whatsoever arising out of the video, the creation, submission or content thereof, the business represented therein, participation in the contest, the award, acceptance or use of a prize, if applicable, the failure to comply with the rules, terms or conditions of the contest, or any other matter directly or indirectly related thereto, including but not limited to any of the foregoing that is or alleged to be an infringement of intellectual property or other rights of others; consent to the use of their names, likenesses, businesses and locations for advertising and publicity purposes by Orlando, Inc., including for promotion of entrepreneurship and other purposes; and represents that the video submitted is the sole and original work and does not infringe on the intellectual property right of any other party.

Orlando, Inc., shall not be responsible or liable to any person or entity for any content in any video that is submitted, including any representations, warranties or any other statements made therein.

Participants agree that Orlando, Inc., and its agents are not responsible for late, lost or misdirected entries or mail, or for error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in transmission, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to or alterations of entry materials, or for technical, network, computer, hardware or software malfunctions of any kind, or inaccurate transmission of or failure of Orlando, Inc., and its agents to receive entries for any reason whatsoever, or any other matter or occurrence beyond Orlando, Inc.’s control. In the event that Orlando, Inc., determines that the integrity of The B.I.G.* Award video contest has been impaired or corrupted for any reason and as a result cannot be offered or completed as planned, Orlando, Inc., reserves the right in its sole discretion to cancel or terminate the contest and to select winners from among eligible entrants legitimately received prior to the event causing cancellation or termination. If the contest is cancelled, Orlando, Inc. will post a notice of cancellation at; however, Orlando, Inc. will not be responsible for any cost, expense or other liability arising out of any delay in posting or failure to post a notice of cancellation.

The B.I.G.* Award video contest shall be governed by and interpreted under the laws of the State of Florida. This contest is void where prohibited by law.
